Machining 316L Austenitic Stainless Steel Parts

  316L stainless steel is a stainless steel variety containing molybdenum. Because of the molybdenum content in steel, 316L austenitic stainless steel parts have a wide range of applications when the concentration of sulfuric acid is below 15% or higher than 85% at high temperature. The 316L austenitic stainless steel parts has good oxidation resistance at discontinuous intervals below 1600 and for continuous use under 700 degrees. In the range of 800-1575 degrees, it is best not to continuously used. However, when the 316L austenitic stainless steel parts are used continuously outside the temperature range, the stainless steel parts has good heat resistance. The performance of 316L austenitic stainless steel parts in carbide precipitation is better than that of 316 stainless steel, and can be used in the temperature range mentioned above. The maximum carbon content of 316L austenitic stainless steel parts is 0.03, which can be used after welding and can not be annealed and requires maximum corrosion resistance. 316L austenitic stainless steel parts also have good chloride resistance properties, so they are often used in marine environments.
