What kind of tool is used for acrylic Machining? What are the properties?

The use of spiral milling cutter is recommended in acrylic machining. It has the characteristics of smokeless, tasteless, fast speed, high efficiency, non-sticky chip and truly environmental protection. The special manufacturing technology of spiral milling cutter ensures that the acrylic can`t burst, the cutter grain is delicate (even without cutter grain) and the surface is smooth.

The material of the cutter is a crucial part of the production and use of the cutter. The general tool material has the following properties:

1. High heat resistance; Refers to tool materials that maintain their hardness, wear resistance, strength and toughness at high temperatures. The higher the tool material's high temperature hardness, the better the tool's cutting performance and the higher the allowable cutting speed. In addition to the high temperature hardness, the tool material should also have the ability to resist oxidation at high temperatures and good resistance to adhesion and diffusion ability.

2. Sufficient strength and toughness; The tool material must have sufficient strength and toughness to allow the tool to withstand high pressures and work under conditions of impact and vibration during acrylic machining without chipping and breaking.

3. High hardness and wear resistance; Hardness is the basic characteristic of the tool material. The tool must cut the material from the workpiece. The hardness of the tool must be greater than the hardness of the workpiece material. Tool material hardness is generally above 60HRC. Wear resistance is the ability of the material to resist wear. Under normal circumstances, the higher the hardness of the tool material, the better the wear resistance, the finer the material grain and the more uniform the distribution, the higher the wear resistance.

4. Good process performance; for ease of manufacture, the tool material is required to have good process performance.
